Problem

Expanding access to clean energy in low-income countries is a key component of global development efforts and the pursuit of a carbon-free economy. Unfortunately, significant barriers exist that hinder the integration of clean energy technology in agriculture development. Likewise, clean energy enterprises seeking to serve these farmers face a number of barriers.

Objectives

Powering Agriculture seeks to fund solutions within the clean energy-agriculture nexus that: (i) Can achieve scale; (ii) Are adoptable within the context of emerging markets; (iii) Are sustainable, and can ultimately progress without outside assistance; and (iv) Utilize modern, evidence-based science and technology approaches.
